Prize of a lifetime TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
1. This prize scheme is open to residents of Australia and New Zealand aged 18 years or older only and opens 10/11//09. Entries close on 10/10/10. The prizes will be drawn at Direct Holdings 80 Bay St Ultimo NSW 2007 on the 19/10/10 at 3.00 p.m.
2. The enclosed promotional material, information on how to enter and prize details form part of these rules. To be eligible to enter the draw, you must reply in accordance with the conditions specified in this promotion. Customers must respond by ordering a product to be eligible to enter this draw. Employees of Direct Holdings, Reader's Digest, WDF Coghlan Limited and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter. All eligible entries will have an equal chance to win. Direct Holdings cannot accept responsibility for lost, misdirected or delayed entries.
3. Direct Holdings will conduct the draw and the winners declared will be final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
4. The first eligible entry drawn for the First Prize will win $40,000. The first eligible entry drawn for the Second Prize will win $10,000. Total number of prizes 2. Total value of giveaway $50,000. The cash prizes may be represented from time to time as merchandise. Prize preferences indicated by participants at time of entry simply highlight options available and are not binding; actual choices will be confirmed with the winner following the draw. All cash prizes will be paid in the local currency of the winner.
5. The Promoter reserves the right to increase the value of any cash prize on offer in one or more promotions. The maximum amount that any cash prize may be increased by will be capped at double the original value of the prize. The decision to increase any cash prize value and the amount of the increase for a promotion will be totally at the discretion of the Promoter and will be indicated in the promotional material for the affected promotion. Should the winning entry come from a promotion in which an increased prize value has been offered, the Promoter will award the winner the increased prize value indicated in that promotion. For all other promotions a winning entry will receive the stated prize value without the increase. If the Promoter decides to offer an increase in the value of any or all of the cash prizes, the total maximum potential value based on a maximum doubling of prizes would then respectively be increased to $100,000. Where the original winner drawn was eligible for the stated prize without the increase but does not claim their prize, only the amount of the prize unclaimed by the original winner drawn, being the stated prize amount without the increase, will be distributed in the unclaimed prize draw in accordance with these rules.
6. The prizewinners will be notified in writing immediately after the draw and will be announced in 'The Australian' on the 29/10/10 and in New Zealand in the 'Sunday Star-Times' on the 31/10/10.
7. The promoter may conduct such further draws at the same place as the original draw as is necessary on 01/02/11 at 3:00 pm in order to distribute any prizes unclaimed by that date. The re-drawn prize winners will be notified in writing immediately after the draw and will be announced in 'The Australian' on 11/02/11 and in New Zealand in the ‘Sunday Star-Times’ on 13/02/11.
8. All entries become the property of the promoter. The promoter may use the entrants' names, addresses and photographs for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes. The promoter's decision on all matters pertaining to this promotion is final.
9. If entry is made via 1300 364 437 the cost will not exceed 50 cents plus GST. If entry is made via www.timelife.com.au the close time and date for entry into the promotion is 11.59PM AEST on the deadline date stated. Limitations on the number of entries permitted could include either one (1) entry only permitted per unique email address OR one (1) entry only permitted per household OR one (1) entry only permitted per entry opportunity. Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used. The promoter accepts no responsibility for late, non-directed or misdirected e-mail, for any technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission or any human error which may occur in the receipt or processing of entries. Further, the promoter accepts no responsibility for damage to computer systems from downloading any information necessary to participate in the prize scheme. The promoter (subject to relevant authorities) reserves the right to terminate or modify the prize scheme or the on-line portion of the prize scheme at any time if the promoter’s on-line service is no longer available or is compromised by any virus, bugs, or other intervention beyond the promoter’s control. In either of these events, prizes may be awarded based on electronic entries received prior to date of termination. The promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the internet entry process or is in any other way responsible for compromising the orderly operation of the prize scheme via the internet. The use of any automated software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
